Behind the Little Goat – The Story of Cozey Handmade

Before I started creating custom-made pillows, I had already “looped out” a few smaller punch needle projects. They included, among others, characters from anime and cartoons. To make sure they didn’t remain forgotten at the bottom of a drawer, I went back to an idea my youngest brother once gave me — to bring my punch needle designs to life on clothing in the form of patches.

My Brand Begins Here and Now

It was while sewing on my first punch needle embroidery — a design of Reyna from the game Valorant — that I felt the desire for my brand to truly come to life. I wanted my punch needle hoodies to be the very first creations shared on my handmade accounts on Instagram and TikTok.

For the photoshoot, I was lucky to have the help of my brother and my niece, who happily took on the roles of models and showcased my hoodies with bright smiles.

How the Brand Name Was Born

When I was searching for the perfect name for my playful little loops with soul — in other words, for my brand — I wanted it to evoke softness, warmth, and coziness. I decided to create a variation of the word “cozy” (or “cosy” in British English), which means comfortable, snug, and soft. I thought to myself — almost perfect! But I still wanted the name to have a touch of uniqueness that would highlight the one-of-a-kind character of my creations.

And that’s how Cozey Handmade was born — pronounced “kozi handmade.”

The visual identity of my brand was created by my husband — I knew no one could do it better, since we share a similar sense of aesthetics and understand each other perfectly in that regard.
Through our conversations, the idea was born to make the head of a charming little goat the symbol of the brand — one that perfectly connects with the name Cozey and serves as its visual “heart.”

The goat symbolizes perseverance and energy — values I put into my work every single day. At the same time, it’s a creature full of warmth and charm, exactly the kind of feeling I want people to associate with my brand. 

Why Did I Start Doing This?

I never thought embroidery would become an escape from everyday life for me. Very quickly, I realized that punch needle is more than just a way to express my creativity — it’s something deeper. It feels like a form of meditation and therapy all in one.

It’s a passion that helps me calm down, relax, and feel the satisfaction of creating something truly special. When I start looping, I forget about my daily worries for a while and simply drift away. 

The Mission of the Brand

I wanted Cozey Handmade to give people the feeling that there are gifts with soul — the kind that are remembered for a long time.
My goal is to show that through handmade creations made from the heart, you can also express yourself.

I truly believe that the stories and memories woven into my projects hold their own kind of magic and can take on a deeply personal meaning — one that we create together. 

The Creative “Boosts” I Love

The best sign that I’m heading in the right direction is the positive feedback I receive — especially from people I don’t even know personally.
I have a few favorite moments in my work, and one of them is seeing someone’s smile or getting a short, warm message when they open their package and discover their pillow — a gift with soul, made especially for them.

It’s thanks to you that I’m where I am today. 

My Plans for the Future

In addition to the custom-made products I create, I dream that my original pillow designs — ready to buy off the shelf — will also gain recognition. In the future, I’d love to create themed collections so that everyone can find something that speaks to them.

For now, I’m mainly focused on making punch needle pillows, but who knows — maybe the embroidered hoodies I started with will make a comeback one day?

My head is full of new ideas; some are already finished and waiting in my drafts, while others are available for purchase as pillows.

Although Cozey Handmade is still a young “little goat,” it grows with me every day — along with my ideas, passion, and dreams. And I can’t wait to see what the next project will bring.

Do You Plan to Bring Back the Punch Needle Hoodies?

For now, I’m focusing on creating pillows, but I don’t rule out bringing the hoodies back! I’m planning themed collections, and hoodies might just appear among them again.
